The Halifax Shipping Association is an organization representing various stakeholders including ocean carriers, shipping agents, stevedoring companies, terminal operators, contractors, as well as general service providers and port users operating within the Port of Halifax.

The HSA’s forty-one member companies encompass the full scope of commercial port activity. The HSA represents the interests of its members in addressing port related issues affecting all aspects of marine transportation. Our advocacy further extends to both the federal and provincial levels of government. A major goal of the Association is to increase both public and private sector awareness as to the vital and valuable role of marine transportation in Canada’s continued economic prosperity. 

Additionally the Halifax Shipping Association in conjunction with Metro Guide Publishing, produce the " Port of Halifax" magazine. This magazine is distributed free of charge to maritime, industrial, and transportation interests around the world and is also made available on this website in a .pdf file format.
